Police Artist
About
Police sketch artists, also called forensic artists or composite artists, interview crime victims and witnesses to create images of suspects that may be used by police or released publicly.
Today's sketch artists use a variety of techniques including free-hand drawing, computerized drawings, and digital modelling and reconstructions. Some artists will also work more closely with forensic teams to help reconstruct elements of crime scenes.
Many sketch artists work as freelancers for several police departments and law enforcement agencies.
