Space Research and Technology
Space research and technology refers to the economic activities related to manufacturing components that go into Earth's orbit or beyond which began after World War II. The three main parts of the industry are satellite manufacturing, support ground equipment manufacturing, and the launch industry. The 2015 Space Report estimates that in 2014 total global space activity was $330 billion. While most activity is within government, a number of private sector companies are beginning to make inroads into the industry.
