Plastic Surgeon

About

When many of us think about plastic surgery, we may picture a Hollywood clinic doing cosmetic work for well-off clients.

However, the practice has been around for thousands of years - perhaps starting with a broken nose suffered by an Ancient Egyptian around 2500BC.

Today's plastic surgery involves the restoration, reconstruction, or alteration of the human body. There are two main types of plastic surgery: reconstructive surgery (which aims to reconstruct a part of the body or improve its functioning) and cosmetic surgery (which aims to improve the appearance of a part of the body).

There are now dozens of procedures that can be undertaken by plastic surgeons, and the practice is used in countries throughout the world.
